I have attempted making my research accountable to community needs and including community members in the research process. My commitment to public scholarship has led me to direct a collaborative Indigenous-language ethnographic film; co-design participatory research methodologies such as collaborative mapping sessions with “subjects” in the field; organize field-based courses and workshops; join delegations with community members to social movement conferences; do advocacy work, including by helping to write a UN report on evictions targeting Indigenous people in Chile; and build community partnerships with local migrant rights organizations as a Graduate Public Service Fellow at Stanford University’s Haas Center.
